We are a dedicated patient advocacy organisation made up of a diverse group of individuals, carers, healthcare professionals and volunteers working together to improve conditions for patients in healthcare. We are united by our common goal of ensuring that every patient receives the respect, care and treatment they deserve.

We actively work to promote patient rights, voices and wellbeing through a range of advocacy initiatives, educational programmes and support measures. Our activities range from campaigning for better access to care to lobbying for policy changes that benefit patients. Our presence extends across national and regional territories, operating in hospitals, health centres and in the community. In addition, our presence is felt online through our social media platforms and website, where we share information, resources and stories from patients and carers.

We strive to create a society where healthcare is equitable, accessible and high quality for all. We want to foster a culture where patients’ voices are heard and respected, and where healthcare is characterised by empathy, compassion and responsiveness to patients’ individual needs and desires.

Our work is essential to ensure that patients’ voices are heard and that their needs and rights are prioritised in healthcare. By increasing the visibility of our CVs, we want to demonstrate our impact, achievements and commitment to improving patients’ quality of life and healthcare experiences.

Mission

The mission of Patients Unite is to support and promote the rights and well-being of patient advocates in the field of patient advocacy. Through advocacy and education (EUPATI), we seek to create a community that prioritises the needs and rights of patient advocates and avoids overlooking or marginalising anyone in their work.

Vision

We are working to establish a system where patient advocates are the focus, where their needs and rights are paramount, and where their voice is listened to and recognised. Our goal is to create a society where the most prominent advocates are treated fairly, where access to them is easy and of high quality for everyone, regardless of their background or situation.

Founded in 2024
The association was founded by Lisbeth Snede out of a growing realisation of the need for increased focus on patient rights and participation in healthcare. We have continued to develop and expand our activities since our founding and are constantly adapting to the changing needs and challenges of the healthcare sector.
